Leadership

I wasn't always a christian. I was raised in church and at the age of five I was baptized. This was when I became a fake Christian. I wasn’t really saved then, I just believed I was because I said a prayer and got baptized. But I didn’t experience the life change that Jesus teaches of being born again. As a teenager I enjoyed sin. I didn’t care about anyone or anything except myself. I believed in Jesus but I wasn't following Jesus' commands. It wasn’t until my daughter was born that I realized that I needed to change my life. So I quit doing a lot of my favorite sins. I was determined to make myself a better person. I even decided I would start reading my Bible. That was sure to make me a good person. My brother invited me to church and I decided to go. When I arrived at the Church I saw an old friend I used to run around with. But there was something different about him. It seemed as if he actually changed from the person he used to be while I was still trying to change myself. I kept going back to Church, trying to become that good person I wanted to be. I finally realized that what my friend had was a new life. I realized that the harder I tried in life, the bigger mess I made. It was at that moment when I prayed asked Jesus to take control of my life. Immediately I felt like a new man. I felt clean and forgiven. I felt happy for the first time in a long time and I had peace from the worry my problems caused. God has done great things for me! My soul is satisfied. I don’t long for anything or anyone other than Jesus. I can also say that I am a better Father. God has given me a job and a purpose in His Church. And every day is a new day and a new adventure. I now know what it means to be born again as a new creation in Jesus, and you can too!
